A full day MDP on ‘Developing Professionals for Leadership Roles’ for the Senior Managers, Punjab & Sind Bank at NIBSCOM, Noida on 31st May’2019 was organised by JIMS Rohini Delhi. The resource persons for the MDP were Dr. Pratima Daipuria, Professor and Dean, PGDM Program. JIMS Rohini and Dr. Neelam Dhall, Professor JIMS Rohini
The event began with a welcome address by Mr. Mohar Singh, Training Coordinator, NIBSCOM followed by a power-packed session led by Dr Pratima Daipuria on Role of Managers as leaders and identification of leadership styles of each individual. The managers were sensitised to their own way of managing and leadership dimensions of various national and international leaders/managers were found relevant in discussions.
In the second session Dr. Neelam Dhall took the participants to an in-depth self awareness through Transactional Analysis and Johari window. During the session, self-assessment tests were conducted which not only helped the participants recognize their facets of personality which is open and hidden to the world but also make them understood the nuances of verbal transactions.
In the post lunch session Dr Pratima Daipuria began with an intense discussion on Role of emotional intelligence in shaping leadership roles. The participants were intrigued by their EI scores and the strategies to be adopted to excel in various facets of EI. The session was very engaging and saw enthusiastic participation by the managers.
Dr. Neelam Dhall conducted the fourth session through a team activity wherein various teams were created and were given a task to accomplish within a scheduled time limit. Some of the lessons taught through the activity included: ‘team functioning’, ‘role of a leader’, ‘coordination amongst team members’, ‘effective communication’ and ‘quality’ management’. Participants thoroughly enjoyed the session as they appeared totally thrilled all through the activity.
It was a great learning experience for Senior Managers, Punjab & Sind Bank, who were delighted and were in all praise for the valuable learnings they had gained throughout the day. Overall, the participants gave an outstanding feedback about the programme.
