Jagan Institute of Management Studies, Rohini organized a symposium on Credit and Banking schemes available for MSME sector on 05-12-2018. The program, in which nearly 130 industry representatives were present, was held exclusively for the members of Bawana Chamber of Industries. All the three major stakeholders, i.e. (1) Government representatives from MSME and NSIC, (2) Industry owners and (3) Financial Institutions represented by SIDBI, Bank of Baroda and Yes Bank, participated in this highly appreciated and interactive program.
The program began with the welcome of guests followed by introductory speech of Dr. J. K. Goyal, former Director, JIMS, who briefed the audience about institute and also about the purpose of holding this symposium. Later Mr. P. C. Jain, Chairman, Bawana Chamber of Industries talked about the problems being faced by MSME units and how government can support them. Mr. Anshuman Mohanty, Director, MSME Ministry told about various government schemes available for the MSME sector. He also listened to some of the issues related to the industry and explained the government views on them. He asked the MSME units to come into formal sector by paying due taxes and through proper documentations. Mr Satish Nema, AGM, SIDBI discussed the financing schemes available for funding to the MSME units and the procedures for availing them. Mr. A. K. Ojha, Asst. Director, MSME-DI, explained the subsidies and facilities provided to the small industries from the government.
Mr. Harpreet Singh, Group Executive Vice President - Risk Management, Yes Bank Ltd. assisted by his team gave a brief presentation on various credit offers designed specifically for the MSME units. Mr. Opendra Sharma, Manager Business Development, NSIC and Mr. Hemraj Agarwal, Chief Manager, Bank of Baroda also spoke of the initiatives taken by their organizations in the growth of MSME sector.
At the end, Dr. Pooja Jain, Director, JIMS told participants about the initiatives taken by JIMS towards industry academic partnerships and various workshops organized for the industry.
