IP Department of JIMS organised a Guest Lecture on 29th January 2018 for BBA 3rd year students on “Art of Public Speaking” by Mr Sunil Das who is currently working as Sr. Regional Head, Academics at Times Education.
Mr Das focused on many aspects of Public Speaking and Extempore and their importance in our professional Life. He addressed the audience on various topics like:
1. Speeches delivered by many great personalities like speech of Steve Jobs at Stanford
2. Purpose of public speaking
3. How to prepare for public speaking
4. What is an extempore and how to prepare for it?
5. Various topics of extempore
He motivated and educated the students about importance of public speaking and how to become good public speaker. Session also included a group discussion on the topic “Euthanasia should be legalised in India”, during which Mr Das gave suggestions and feedback to students on how to prepare for extempore on these subjects. He also cleared some misconception about “Euthanasia”.
Session was highly interactive and students actively participated in every exercise. Students were extremely happy to learn about public speaking and clearing their doubts and queries from an industry expert. The workshop was successful and fulfilled the objective of educating the students about the importance of Public Speaking and Extempore.
