JIMS Rohini organised an insightful Alumni Guest Session on 8th Nov 2025 for the PGDM (2025–27) batch covering the topic “The ABC of Project Management: From Planning to Execution.”
The session was conducted by Mr. Akhil Gupta, Project Manager at British Telecom (BT) and an alumnus of the PGDM 2012–14 batch.
Mr. Gupta shared his rich professional experience in the field of project management, offering students a practical understanding of how planning, effective communication and timely execution form the backbone of successful projects. He highlighted the significance of aligning project objectives with organizational goals and emphasized the importance of leadership, coordination, and adaptability in dynamic business environments.
Drawing from his own corporate journey, he explained the critical phases of project management starting from initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure. He illustrated each stage with real-life examples from the telecom industry. Mr. Gupta also emphasized on the value of teamwork, stakeholder management using basic analytical tools to ensure efficient project delivery.
The session inspired students to develop a structured approach toward managing complex business tasks while developing essential managerial skills such as problem-solving, decision-making, and strategic thinking. He briefed about the project management roles which students can take while placements and make their career into.
Students found the session highly engaging and informative, gaining actionable insights that will help them navigate their future careers with greater clarity and confidence.
