The PGDM–International Business Department of Jagan Institute of Management Studies (JIMS), Rohini organised an insightful two-day guest lecture on 22nd and 26th August 2025 for the students of the batch 2025–27. The sessions were conducted by Dr. Abhishek Kaushik, Programme Director of Data Analytics and Research Leader in Emerging Technology at Dundalk Institute of Technology, Ireland.
With over a decade of consulting and teaching experience, Dr. Kaushik highlighted the growing challenge of navigating an information-saturated world where truth often gets buried under noise. He explained the difference between misinformation (false information shared by mistake) and disinformation (false information spread deliberately to mislead), illustrating with practical examples such as outdated reports and fake online reviews.
He further introduced how Artificial Intelligence is becoming a game-changer—from detecting deepfakes to scanning vast amounts of social media content in seconds. Through engaging case studies, students gained insights into how companies are leveraging AI for brand protection, financial monitoring, and ensuring internal data accuracy.

- Financial institutions use AI to filter noise from verified insights.
- Internal audits benefit from AI’s ability to detect data inconsistencies.
Staying Ethical & Critical
- While technology is powerful, ethical responsibility lies with individuals.
- Blockchain and watermarking strengthen authenticity, but critical thinking remains essential.
The sessions concluded with a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Abhishek Kaushik for sharing his expertise, time, and thought-provoking insights. Students of the batch 2025–27 left the lectures with greater awareness of the risks of misinformation, practical strategies for using AI responsibly, and the confidence to face the digital future with both technical skills and ethical clarity.
