At the close of Orientation Week 2025 , Jagan Institute of Management Studies (JIMS), Rohini, conducted Case Study Sessions on 5th July 2025 for the management students to build analytical and problem solving sills through the art of case study analysis which proves to be a crucial learning component in management education . The sessions were led by the Professors of JIMS Dr. Amisha Gupta, Dr. Deepti Kakkar, Dr. Neha Shukla , Dr. Sheetal Chaddha and Dr. Mansi Arora with students divided into groups.
The primary objective of the workshop was to equip students with the skills to develop an analytical mindset, identify various elements of a case, understand the issues and problems involved and find the best possible solutions. The workshops aimed to foster analytical insights among students and demonstrate how different aspects of a case influence organizations and play a critical role in the decision-making process. Professors guided the students through a structured, step-by-step approach to effectively analyze any case study. They introduced a range of analytical tools and frameworks, including SWOT Analysis, the BCG Matrix, Porter’s Five Forces, PESTLE Analysis, and other relevant business models, to support critical evaluation. The session culminated with students being encouraged to recommend practical and actionable solutions. Highlighting the significance of future thinking, urging students to ensure that their recommendations are not only feasible in the short term but also strategically sustainable in the long run. This workshop provided a practical introduction to strategic thinking, business problem-solving, and decision-making using real-world case studies.
Participants found the workshops beneficial for acquiring an additional management decision-making skill, which they believe will help them navigate real-life situations effectively.
