Industry Readiness Session by Amit Nath Saxena: Mastering Effective Communication
The PGDM department recently organized an insightful session on Industry Readiness on 6 th Dec 2024 for PGDM Batch (2024-26) students by Mr. Amit Nath Saxena, Sales Manager, South Asia and PGDBM Batch (1999-2001). The session emphasized the pivotal role of effective communication in achieving professional goals more efficiently. Mr. Saxena, with his vast industry experience, shed light on how the art of communication extends far beyond mere words and is significantly influenced by non-verbal cues and intonations. He demonstrated how a single message, when delivered in different tones or with varying gestures, could evoke entirely different interpretations, stressing the importance of clarity and adaptability in workplace communication.
One of the session’s highlights was the discussion on the challenges new joiners face when integrating with existing employees. Mr. Saxena elaborated on how effective communication could bridge the gap, fostering collaboration and mutual understanding. He provided practical tips on navigating sensitive workplace scenarios, helping students understand how to tackle “thin ice” situations with confidence and poise.
The interactive nature of the session further set it apart. Mr. Saxena’s calm and approachable demeanor encouraged students to step out of their shells, voice their doubts, and engage in meaningful discussions. This safe and open environment not only boosted their confidence but also allowed them to reflect on their own communication styles.
This initiative by the department aimed to prepare students beyond classroom concepts, equipping them with the tools to handle real-world challenges effectively. The session served as a reminder that in the professional realm, the ability to communicate effectively is not just a skill but a cornerstone of success.
