The MarQuest Club of JIMS Rohini, Sector 5, organized ‘PITCHATHON 2025’, an engaging
two-phase competition aimed with the goal of evaluating participants' innovative ideas and
sales abilities. The competition was divided into two stages. The first round, in which 21
teams competed, took place on February 10, 2025. Twelve crosswords pertaining to
marketing concepts made up the first round's marketing-themed crossword puzzle. Ten teams
were selected for the second round. For second round, the chosen teams were tasked with
selling ten different products in the marketplace.
In order to be successful, they needed to use
creative and convincing sales techniques and adapt to real-world challenges to maximize
profits. Each team was expected to create a PowerPoint presentation in addition to selling,
which they had to present on February 11, 2025. Students were judged on parameters such as
decision-making regarding pricing of the products, profitability, selling tactics, customer
engagement, teamwork and presentation skills. Further following the conclusion of second
round, esteemed Judges Nikita Dhyani and Mrs Ambika Bhatia with Dr. Monika awarded
first Team (Salesforce – Vanshika Gola, Vishal Jha, Tushar Sharma), second team (White
Diamonds – Siya Kumari, Kshitiz Rajput, Rajat Chatterjee) and third team (Titans – Abdul
Majid, Kshitiz Yadav, Gurasees Singh) with cash prizes. Additionally, 70% of the profit made
by students were given to charitable organizations.
The remaining profit was then divided
among the teams according to their respective contributions. Overall, MarQuest (the
marketing club) gave students real-world exposure to sales and marketing through this event,
teaching them how to develop successful strategies, interact with customers, and overcome
challenges in a market setting. They also learned skills related to team co-ordination,
decision-making, and presenting results professionally.
