On 19 th November, 2024 Creador Club of Jagan Institute Of Management Studies in Sector 5, Rohini organized an event titled “Display Junction-Where design and strategy converge”, a unique visual merchandising event. The primary goal of the event was to provide students with an experience in conceptualizing, designing, and executing visually stunning Apparel displays. The event encourages participants to think innovatively, communicate brand stories, understand & showcase consumer psychology through their displays.
The event started at 9.30 am where each team was tasked with crafting an eye-catching and strategic window display to highlight the appeal of their chosen apparel. The participants had 1 hour and 30 minutes to bring their vision to life, working diligently to create visually compelling presentations that merged style with substance.
At 11.30 am, The judges were welcomed warmly by Dr. R.K. Singh, Dean PGDM- Retail Management. The judges were Dr. Navneet Joshi, Professor and Innovation Head IIC-Jims and Dr. Bhavna Chadha, founder of Adhyapan - The Skills Hub and a clinical psychologist by profession.
Key Highlights of the event included:
Thematic Displays: Teams of students were to work on specific themes, such as sustainability, festive seasons, luxury brands, or cultural diversity, to create appealing window and in-store displays.
Diverse Designs: From elegant, minimalist setups to vibrant, colourful arrangements, each display reflected the participants’ unique vision and storytelling skills.
Judges Feedback: The judges appreciated the participants for their creativity and strategic thinking, providing insightful feedback to help them refine their skills..
Display Junction was a platform for students to explore the dynamic field of visual merchandising. Through this competition, participants gained experience in designing impactful window displays, learning the importance of storytelling, product focus, and aesthetics in driving consumer engagement.
Awards were given to the teams whose display stood out for its exceptional creativity and presentation, recognizing the hard work of the participants. The judges commended all participants for their dedication and innovative ideas, encouraging them to continue exploring the field of visual merchandising. The event left a lasting impact, inspiring students to think outside the box and appreciate the critical role of visual merchandising in connecting art with commerce.
