Corporate Visit to the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF)

The outbound corporate visit to the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF) was an exceptional opportunity for the students pursuing PGDM (HR) specialization to gain an in-depth understanding of the training and development strategies within the banking sector. This learning visit was structured to provide a comprehensive overview of the institute’s approach to training, program design, and effective management practices.

The learning session began with a thorough tour of the IIBF facilities. This tour was designed to offer students an immersive experience of the institute’s infrastructure, showcasing state-of-the-art training environments.

Following the tour, the focus shifted to need assessment and program design. This session emphasized the crucial role of need assessment in identifying the specific training requirements. Students explored the importance of Learning and development for high performing organizations. A key aspect was the tailored training programs to address the unique needs of different stakeholders, ensuring that each program is relevant and maximally effective.

Additionally, the session addressed the measurement of training return on investment (ROI) and its impact on performance. Participants learned how to assess the effectiveness of training programs through various evaluation methods and metrics, ensuring that training investments translate into tangible improvements in employee performance and organizational outcomes.

In the last leg of the session the students were involved in an activity whereby they were instructed to Design a Training Broacher on the various topics like Leadership development, Cyber security and Stress management. Those broachers were then presented and discussed with inputs from senior bankers like Mr. Basin and Mr. Rana.

In the end, students extended a heartfelt thanks to Mr. Basin and Mr. Aman Dhar for the invaluable opportunity to visit the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF). Their insightful guidance and the exposure to IIBF's Learning and Development initiatives made the experience exceptional. Their dedication to sharing knowledge and showcasing advanced training programs significantly enriched the understanding of effective L&D strategies. This outbound visit provided a comprehensive overview of training processes in the banking sector, offering valuable insights for enhancing training programs and contributing to organizational growth.
