JIMS Rohini Organized Workshop on “Staying Happy for Mental and physical being”

Mental health is as important as physical health. In recognition of this, JIMS organized a mental health awareness session led by Ms. Sheetal Aggarwal as part of the orientation week for PGDM students. Ms. Sheetal is a medical clown and anthropologist who takes great joy in using her knowledge of sociology and skills as a medical clown to uplift society. In an era of technological revolution, she believes in the power of playfulness, empathy, and collaboration to improve lives through her clown acts.

The session began with a brief introduction of Ms. Sheetal Aggarwal, making it evident  that for many of us, this was our first interaction with such a unique session. To create a positive and energetic atmosphere, she initiated a series of interactive activities.

Ms. Sheetal engaged students in fun activities like shaking hands, hips, tongues, and legs to boost mental well-being. These activities helped everyone loosen up and embrace a sense of fun. She then instructed the students to walk around the room and shake hands, promoting social interaction. Next, she asked students to form groups of five, share their names, and talk about their favorite dishes. This exercise aimed to help students connect with new peers, fostering a sense of community and friendship.

The highlights of the day were the delightful cooperative games designed to help the audience let go of inhibitions and stress. Ms. Aggarwal's lessons on the benefits of laughter, self-love, and the importance of good mental health are sure to have a long-lasting impact on the participants.

Through her guidance, we were reminded that happiness is within our reach, and by practicing her strategies, we can lead fulfilling and joyous lives.
