On July 4, 2024, Jagan Institute of ManagementStudies (JIMS), Rohini, organized an insightful goal-setting workshop as partof the orientation program for the new PGDM batch of 2024-2026. The session wasled by Ms. Hima Pravin, a distinguished professional with over two decades ofcorporate experience. She is a dynamic coach, author, and people developmentexpert, as well as a certified Intelligent Leadership Coach and the visionaryfounder of Meraqi Consulting, a firm dedicated to enabling transformationsthrough deep learning.
The workshop commenced with Dr. Deepika Saxenawelcoming Ms. Hima with a sapling. Ms. Hima began the session by emphasizingthe importance of setting SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant,Time-bound) goals. She underscored the necessity of having a well-defined plan,stating, “A goal without a plan is just a wish.” The session covered severalcritical aspects: understanding and setting SMART goals, developing actionableplans, the importance of having an accountability partner, recognizingpotential obstacles, and creating a vision board to make goals visible andmaintain focus.
Ms. Hima concluded the workshop by sharingpractical tips for a fulfilling life, such as living purposefully, managingtime effectively, counting blessings, managing finances wisely, enjoying thepresent moment, avoiding comparisons with others, and focusing on collaborationrather than competition. The session transitioned to an interactive Q&Asegment where students actively participated, posing various questions to Ms.Hima. She answered each question gracefully, providing valuable insights andguidance.
The event was a resounding success, providing thenew PGDM batch with essential tools and inspiration to embark on their academicand professional journeys.
