Lohri is the festival of joy which ushers in the joyous spring and bids adieu to the hard winter. It also celebrates the days getting longer as the sun proceeds on its northward journey.
Jagan Institute of Management Studies (JIMS Rohini) celebrated this occasion on January 13th 2023. The event was organized by members of the cultural club – EKYUM.
The mood was upbeat and everyone dressed in traditional attires, actively immersed in the festive spirit. The event started with a heart-warming welcome of all the staff members and students with bhangra and gidda dance performances by PGDM students. The anchoring was done by Gulab Chhabra (PGDM IB- 1st year) and Sakshi Yadav (PGDM GENERAL- 1st year). They anchored the whole show with great enthusiasm including traditional songs and ‘boliyan’ that added to the energy of the day.
Audience also participated in a small quiz, having interesting questions regarding Lohri., which was followed by bonfire. Packets of Popcorn, peanuts, gajjak and rewari were distributed amongst all.
Everyone enjoyed the beats on Dhol and DJ added to the enjoyment. Prizes were given to students and staff members for “Best well dressed” and “Best foot tappers”.
The event was in all a great success and saw huge participation from the staff and students fraternity.
