“Style is a way of saying who you are without having to speak.” ~ Rachel Zoe
Everyone needs a little inspiration from time to time. Some days can be harder than others to pick out an outfit. Not only do we have so many options of styles but also colors and patterns, plus we need to match our outfit to fit our mood and occasion and make sure that it will go well with the weather or air conditioning depending on where our day is taking us.
A wonderful and insightful session was being conducted by Ms. Aarti Sharma, who is an internationally certified Image consultant and a corporate trainer with soft skills training, with skills in in coaching, communication and wardrobe analyst along with personal branding expert.
It is rightly said you can have anything you want in life as long as you dress for it. - Edith Head
It was a great opportunity for us to know the various Styles of dressing and how 4layers of dressing can impact differently of your image or personality. What and how we appear impacts more than what we say or hear. Visual effects stays longer as Ms. Aarti explains in the session.
She also showed us how personal branding is supposed to be done and how do we create an individual identity for ourselves in room full of components. She taught us ABC( Appearance, Behavior, Communication) of image management. What we see has 55 % of impact on people followed by 38 % of vocal and only 7 % of what verbal communication takes place. So, our appearance how we look it all matters a lot.
She also made us all aware of some basic ettiquetes that men and women should follow when attending a formal situation. Every small detail speaks something about our personality. For examples us wearing a wrist watch tells that we value, we wear our time we value our time and so does others. We keep a track along with us. Similarly how do women groom hair or how well fit iron shirt does men wear and if their shoes are well polished and cleaned or not. These all detail matter.
We all are glad for JIMS Rohini sec5 to have her here for letting us know some much needed piece of advices we all would carry along with us in our journey of corporate work.
