Inaugural Session
JIMS, Rohini hosted its Orientation Program from 2nd to 8th July 2024 to welcome the new batch 2024-26 of PGDM, PGDM IB and PGDM RM students with an objective to assist the newly joined students to develop a fair understanding of the journey they would be undertaking during the course of their program. One of the main goals of the program was to strengthen the students' managerial skills, foster interpersonal relationships, and plant the seeds of comprehensive self-development. The curriculum included lessons on topics like mental awareness, time management, team building, case study analysis, and personal branding in order to facilitate this.
The orientation program officially began on July 4th. With the traditional lamp burning and Saraswati Vandana, the day began on an auspicious note. The session started with an opening address and a welcome note by Dr. Pooja Jain to the faculty, students and guests of honour. Dr. Jain briefed about the institute, its vision and mission, history and ranking of the institute along with recent achievements and how the faculty and staff members of the college will help students to take the right path and guide them.
The guests of honour, Prof. Anil D. Sahasrabudhe, Chairman of the NBA and NETF Cell, delivered the inaugural remarks. He shed light on the significance of time in the life of a student. He placed emphasis on the use of modern AI tools that assist students today and provide them with ideas for future decisions. One of the esteemed alumni, Ms. Deeptie Sethi, Global Communications Specialist I CEO, PRCAI I Ex Ford Motor Company, BBC World PGDBM Batch 1995-97, took over the orientation in more detail. She ignited the students' interest by sharing her personal narrative of transitioning from college to the business world.
Dr. Harshavardhan Halve advised students that learning is not based on scores and that students should be able to express themselves freely. In addition to learning during the curriculum, he told students that the institution aims is to help them apply, their classroom learnings to the workplace, which is what the company experts expect during the placements.
Mr. Sanjay Kumar Jain, CMD, Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation gave the Orientation address to the students.
Diverse ethnic, socioeconomic, and demographic backgrounds of students enthusiastically flocked to hear from distinguished speakers who would inspire them and point them in the direction of their professional advancement.
Motivation Session
Success demands perseverance, commitment, and a never-say-die mindset. For many of us, one of the toughest obstacles is finding motivation. We frequently find it simple to allow our personal problems and circumstances to stand in the way of our accomplishments. Everybody has the key to their success; sometimes all we need is a little encouragement to take the next step. To inculcate self-motivation in the students JIMS, Rohini invited the international motivational speaker Mr. Simerjeet Singh on concluding day of the orientation to keep the pace of motivation level high amongst the students. The speaker presented real-life examples from his life and encouraged them to never give up. Additionally, he engaged students in team activities and gave an example of "Taking Actions Fast." The session was very beneficial for them, and they resolved never to give up on their goals. Lastly, the speaker gave more motivational examples and answered students' questions. He picked few topics in context to a management graduate like Positive Thinking & Attitude, Mind Power, Leadership Skills, Stress Management and Decision Making. The speaker discussed various ways to change our mind-set to achieve our goals, such as respecting ourselves, celebrating our small accomplishments, being grateful, and so on. Goals in life bring optimism into life, and such positive changes can make one's life brighter and more successful. There are many motivational quotes that have an impact on our lives. Some of them include "A life without a goal is like a sailor without a boat." "Failing to plan is planning to fail."
The session ended up with a huge round of applause by the students and the speaker as well. It actually enlighten a fire amongst the students and they all were geared up to join the classes from the coming week.
