Jagan Institute of Management Studies, Sector 5, Rohini, Delhi organized a webinar under health awareness series on 18th June 2020. The resource person for the webinar on “COVID 19: Facts and Myths” was Dr. Atul Kakar, Senior Consultant and Vice Chairman, Department of Internal Medicine, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.
The session started with an opening address by Dr Praveen Arora, Dean, IPU Affiliated Programs. She welcomed Dr. Atul Kakar and all participants to the webinar and emphasized upon the changing environment of learning during pandemic and lockdown. Dr Atul Kakar in his address covered a wide range of topics related to myths and fears associated with COVID-19. He explained the process of viral infection and focused on various preventive measure to be taken to control its spread. During his talk, Dr. Kakar explained the effects of COVID 19 on human body, its spread, control measures, symptoms and how one can take care of an affected person. He also emphasised on the role of doctors and medical staff along with role of family members in handling this stressful situation.
The session was followed by a Q&A session where participants asked various questions related to this pandemic and how to overcome the stress caused due to it. This was a very informative and interactive session via online platform –Google Meet.
