JIMS Rohini Organized Food Distribution Drive

Objective of the Event

The NSS (National Service Scheme) Cell of JIMS Rohini organized a food distribution drive in the adopted village of Rithala to celebrate Makar Sankranti. The primary objectives of the event were:

  1. The event was planned a week in advance, with active participation from NSS volunteers and faculty members
  2. Donations in the form of raw food items and monetary contributions were collected from students, faculty, and staff.
  3. Food packets were prepared, containing items like rice, lentils, flour, cooking oil, jaggery, sesame seeds, and festive sweets.
• Inauguration Ceremony:
  1. The event began at 12:00 PM with an inauguration ceremony attended by the village head, NSS coordinators, and student volunteers.
  2. A brief address by the NSS Heads and coordinators of JIMS Rohini emphasized the spirit of giving and the significance of Makar Sankranti as a festival of sharing and gratitude.
• Distribution Process:
  1. Villagers were invited to the community center where the distribution took place.
  2. Over 300 families received food.
