The session was led by Deepshri Halve, a distinguished visual art educator, freelancer artist, and art therapy workshop leader.
The workshop aimed to explore how art serves as a medium of communication, emotional expression, and creativity. It was an engaging event filled with practical activities and thought-provoking discussions.
Introduction to Art and Activity 1
The session began with a brief introduction to the therapeutic and communicative power of art. The first activity, designed to reduce stress, encouraged participants to close their eyes and scribble freely based on their emotions. This simple yet impactful exercise was followed by a discussion on how art acts as a mirror of one’s feelings and thoughts.
Marketing and Psychology of Colors
The session also touched on the role of colors in marketing and branding. Ms. Halve explained how colors evoke psychological responses and influence perceptions. For example, red represents passion and energy, while blue conveys trust and calmness.
Poster Design and Masking Activity
The highlight of the workshop was the poster-making demonstration, where Ms. Halve illustrated how to design impactful posters. Following this, an exciting group activity was conducted where participants were divided into eight groups, each representing a well-known brand. Each group was tasked with creating a poster for their assigned brand using masking techniques and incorporating elements of art like balance, harmony, and color psychology.
Reflections and Q&A
In the final segment, each group presented their poster, explaining the thought process and artistic choices behind their design. The session concluded with a reflection and Q&A round, where participants shared their learning experiences and gained deeper insights into art and communication. Conclusion
The workshop was an immersive experience, offering participants a unique blend of creativity and learning. It emphasized the importance of art in self-expression, emotional well-being, and effective communication.
