The BizIntruders Club hosted the Crossbiz 2024 Debate Competition, on 6 Aug 2024, featuring 16 teams debating on current business affairs. Each team presented arguments for and against their assigned topics, demonstrating impressive critical thinking and eloquence. The debate topics ranged from digitization in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat to globalization, climate change, and the Russia-Ukraine conflict, ensuring a wide spectrum of discussion. The event was judged by Ms. Mansi Madan and Dr. Ritika Chopra, who evaluated teams based on clarity, depth of analysis, rebuttal effectiveness, and presentation skills. All teams showcased thorough preparation and delivered balanced, compelling arguments, engaging the audience with lively debates. The audience actively participated, posing challenging questions that added to the vibrant atmosphere of the event.
Team Trailblazer emerged as the champion, impressing the judges with their well-researched and cohesive arguments on the topic of whether developing countries should prioritize economic growth over environmental concerns in the context of climate change. The Dead Poet Society secured the runner-up position with their strong analytical skills and command over the topic of whether taxpayers should have direct control over how their taxes are spent. The competition not only provided a platform for participants to hone their debating skills but also deepened their understanding of critical global issues. The event was a resounding success, reflecting the BizIntruders Club's commitment to fostering an environment of intellectual growth and excellence in both academic and extracurricular activities.
