On August 21, 2024, Jagan Institute of Management Studies (JIMS) hosted an exhilarating Sports Day for the PGDM students all verticals, featuring three intense competitions: Tug of War, Chess, and Arm Wrestling. The event brought together students, faculty, and staff, each cheering for their favorites and building a spirit of unity and teamwork.
The Tug of War competition was an electrifying start to the day, with teams pitted against each other in an epic test of strength, coordination, and perseverance. Teams battled in a series of heats, with each pull fueled by the enthusiastic cheers of the crowd. The final round saw a close contest, but Team Bravo emerged victorious after a fierce showdown, pulling their opponents over the line with sheer determination and strategic teamwork.
The Chess tournament provided a mental respite from the physical events, yet it was no less intense. Students from different programs competed in a round-robin format, with each match testing the players’ analytical skills, concentration, and patience. The final match was a nail-biting game that showcased incredible foresight and strategic depth, culminating in a victory for Riya Singh, who maintained composure under pressure and displayed a remarkable understanding of the game’s intricacies.
The Arm Wrestling contest was the final event, adding a powerful and exciting close to the day. Participants showcased their strength, resilience, and determination, each match engaging the crowd with suspense and excitement. It came down to a gripping final between Arjun Mehta and Samir Patel. After an intense face-off, Samir Patel clinched the victory, demonstrating exceptional power and technique that brought the event to a thrilling conclusion.
The Sports Day was a tremendous success, fostering camaraderie and competitive spirit among participants. Events like these are integral in developing both physical endurance and mental strength, embodying JIMS’s commitment to holistic student development.
