The Department of PGDM International Business JIMS Technical Campus, Rohini successfully organized the National Conclave on Indian Supply Chain and Global Dynamics Issues, Opportunities, and Challenges on Tuesday, 17 th Oct 2023 at IIC, Max Mueller Marg, New Delhi. The event brought together various stakeholders associated with the foreign trade sector of the economy like policymakers, exporters, importers and academicians cum researchers to share their opinions and deliberate on the theme.
The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp giving an auspicious start to the event followed by felicitation of the distinguished guests. Prof. Pooja Jain, Director JIMS Rohini inaugurated the session by welcoming the guests and audience for the conclave. Her address was followed by the address of Prof. Harshvardhan Halve, Director General JIMS Rohini.
The chief guest for the inaugural session was Mr. SS Yadav, Director – KRIBHCO along with dignitaries like Mr Sanjeet Singh, Senior Advisor – NITI Ayog and Mr. Ramesh Aggarwal, Chairman- Aggarwal Movers & Packers. The speakers enlightened the students and introduced them to the current scenario of Global Supply Chains and their future prospects in India.
The address by all the dignitaries was followed by the launch of the book, ’Navigating Supply Chains’ published by JIMS Rohini. The book comprises experiential learning outcomes of the students of PGDM IB gained during their summer internships in the arena of export-import and supply chain management operations. It was both a moment of joy and pride for the department.
The inaugural ceremony was followed by Panel discussion 01 based on the theme “Indian Multi & Inter Modal Transportation Challenges and Opportunities” with dignitaries on the dias like Mr Anuj Shokeen, AGM Business Development Brace Port Logistics, Mr Sanjeev Garg, Secretary General, CILT & MD Pipavav Rail Corp Ltd, Prof. Ashok Advani, Senior Prof. SCM Logistics-Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi, Mr Anil Sondhi, Leather Exporter and member Committee for Administration Council for Leather Exports. The speakers shared their experiences giving their viewpoints on various transportation challenges in the country and ways to harness the opportunities. The session ended with the question- answer round from the audience.
Panel discussion 02 was themed on “Supply Chain Disruptions – Consequences and Way Forward” moderated by Mr Praduman Gupta, MD Lasco Shipping and discussed by Mr Rajeev Thakural, CSO - Cargomen , Mr Sanjay Kumar, Head - Asia Pacific, Deloitte , Mr Rohit Tikku, CEO – Blue Bird Solar, Mr Ashutosh Srivastava, Sr Vice President Global Sourcing, Hero Group. Distinguished speakers from the industry deliberated on the theme of the session. The speakers gave their expert opinion on globalization of markets and the
competitive business environment. They emphasized that the disruption to supply chains has become more widespread, growing from an industrial problem to a threat to economic stability. The session was followed by a question answer round from the audience.This event offered a multifaceted learning experience providing real-world insights and practical knowledge related to global business and diplomacy, ultimately enriching the understanding of India's role in the global business landscape
